Fascia is the body’s largest organ, and research shows it has immense healing power. This training will help teachers understand the importance of fascia and the use of myofascial release as a tool for deep healing. Brush up on your anatomy and physiology while learning how to add myofascial release into your teaching. Over the course of this training, we’ll take an in-depth look at fascia to discover:
What fascia is and why it matters: cellular structure, function, and integration with the body’s other systems including the nervous, circulatory, endocrine, and immune systems.
Fascia’s role in communicating with the nervous system in regards to pain, safety, and chronic tension patterns as related to trauma recovery.
The relationship between the fascial trains as discovered by fascia researcher Thomas Meyers of Anatomy Trains, and referral pain patterns and trigger points, attributed to Janet Travell, David Simons & Lois Simons in Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction.
The stages of injury recovery and the role of myofascial release in stimulating cellular repair.
Sites of myofascial release to target referred pain.
Techniques for teaching myofascial release as well as deepening your anatomical knowledge.
The role & methods for stimulating fascial trains in yogic movement practices.
The implications of fascial work in athletic performance and recovery.
