Welcome in Summer and escape to the coast without leaving town! Bluebird member & ceramic artist Melanie Kaffl teams up with Nancy Fallon for a relaxing afternoon of yoga and pottery glazing!
Nancy will begin with a gentle yoga practice to relax your nervous system and encourage your mind to let go and get creative. The practice will start with gentle movement, progress into myofascial release in all the right spots to reduce the body's tension, and conclude with a guided meditation to take you on a journey to the shore in your mind.
Next, Melanie will guide you into the creative process as you glaze a stylish mug capturing the serene colors of the beach. Imagine starting your day, coffee or tea in hand, with the soft sounds of morning surf whispered by your mug's oceanic hues. No prior pottery or yoga experience is necessary—this workshop is for everyone.

with Mary Ann Saunders
-
Sundays in August: 9th, 16th, 23rd; 3:30-4:15 pm

Meditation is the practice of returning home to your true nature, a place of inherent peace, clarity, and balance. While the benefits of a calm mind are well-documented, the challenge often lies in knowing how to begin and how to stay consistent.
Join Mary Ann Saunders for a three-week meditation series designed to demystify the practice and explore tools that lead to a quiet mind and a compassionate heart.
Over the course of three sessions, we will cover:
-Preparing for Stillness: Using Pranayama (breathwork) and simple movements to settle the nervous system and steady the physical body.
-Concentration to Meditation: Learning the transition from Dharana (focused concentration) to Dhyana (meditation) using various classical methods.
-The Meditative Life: Practical ways to maintain your "practice amidst the noise of daily life.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to revitalize a stagnant practice, this workshop provides a supportive space to explore the transformative power of silence.

7/12- Myofascial Release & Yoga for Lower Back Pain
with Nancy Fallon
-
Sunday, July 12th, 1:00-3:00 pm

Do you suffer from lower back or hip pain? Occasional or chronic, hip mobility has a large effect on the lumbar spine & surrounding tissue. Learn simple self-release techniques as well as stretches you can use at home to maintain healthy glide and function in some of the body's largest muscles. Additionally, we will touch on strength movements to keep the hips stable and supported so that tender areas can take a load off and heal. Finally, we'll work through some modifications to common yoga poses that might help you continue to enjoy your regular classes!
Nancy is a licensed chiropractic assistant and rehab coach, and well accustomed to working with people in pain. Please note however, that this workshop is not meant to replace medical care, but is for those looking for additional PT in order to support their issues through movement.
