Private Yoga Sessions- In Person or Virtual

In Person Location: 1425 Liberty Rd., Suite 220, Eldersburg, MD

A private yoga session is perfect for those looking for individualized attention and guidance specific to their needs. If you are brand new to yoga, a one-on-one session can introduce you to the practice in a comfortable, private setting. Whether you are recovering from an injury and looking for ways to modify your practice, a beginner wanting to learn the basics, or simply prefer the one-on-one format, a private yoga session offers a personalized experience, tailored to fit your needs.

All private sessions are taught within a trauma-informed framework, wherein the teacher creates and holds space for client to experience their body as a safe place to be. The teacher will provide choices and variations, empowering the client to explore and make choices that suit their comfort. Special attention is placed on the language used, the setting, and the content of the sessions.

Yoga is so much more than movement: it teaches the careful practice of introspection that guides one into awareness of their subtle body. This bridges the brain/ body gap in a client’s understanding of what their bodies are trying to express: emotions, need for expression, change, connection to spirit, as well as giving voice to aches and pains so that all can be liberated. This somatic understanding, once awakened in us, can be such a powerful catalyst in one’s healing journey.

*Private Group Sessions are also available

Somatic Therapy- In Personal or Virtual

What is Somatic Therapy? Somatic means of the body. Many of us intellectualize our emotions, which means analyze why we are having them. We may not have an understanding of their impact on our bodies. Emotions are energy in motion; they must move out of our bodies via breath, movement, or sound. If we are unaware of how to process emotions physically, we may end up with physical symptoms of illness or pain which linger after conventional treatment.

Anyone can benefit from this practice! Those suffering with chronic pain or illness, mental health concerns, or trauma can certainly witness restoration to health by learning to implement this work into their daily lives.

Clients engaging in Somatic Therapy with us will learn:

  • About the nervous system, polyvagal theory, and how emotions are held as charge in the body.

  • Somatic exercises to regulate the nervous system, process and move emotions.

  • To become embodied: through meditation and movement, correlate body sensations with emotion. You’ll feel better connected to what your body is trying to communicate to you, and understand why learning to listen to your body is the key to unlocking your true path in life.

  • You’ll learn how to work with triggers, and how to use the body’s energetic system to unearth and process stored traumas and emotions.

  • You’ll uncover limiting believes and replace them with current truths, learn how to engage in inner dialogue to heal and reparent your inner child.

  • You’ll unlock your true path and potential in life and begin to identify and follow your passions.

What people are saying:

“Nancy is a natural healer. She is empathetic, non-judgmental and kind. She is great about helping slowly incorporate somatics into every day life. Nancy has changed my life for the better. I feel stronger and more trusting of myself and my body. She has helped me to set up a basic daily practice that has deeply helped bring down the cortisol and other stressors as soon as I wake up. Nancy is also so trustworthy. The bond we have formed is reliable and special. She doesn’t act like she has all the answers; she simply works on herself and empowers others to do the same. Nancy is naturally great at this work. She makes me feel so comfortable and cared for even when things are at their hardest and I consider it magical. I know she will improve so many lives.”

“Through movement, self assessment and continued practice, Devon has taught me invaluable skills that have reached parts of my soul and my body that had been left unhealed by years of trauma and left unaddressed by traditional talk therapy. It has been like taking something I’ve talked about for so long, and actually facing it head on in a moment and with a person where I felt safe to bring the trauma to the surface.”
