Myofascial Release & Yin
During this restful class, we will hydrate the fascia (connective tissue), restore mobility, and relax the nervous system. First, experience a gentle movement warm up, followed by myofascial release to target a specific area of the body. The class concludes with several longer-held, passive postures. Among the benefits of this practice are increased blood circulation, lymphatic flow, range of motion, and down-regulation of the nervous system.
What to expect:
- Laying on the floor for the majority of class
- Participants will get up and down from the floor
-
Gentle Yoga, Myofascial Release, & Yin
This class will combine gentle movement with longer-held, passive postures and myofascial release. We will begin with slow-paced yoga in supine, seated, and standing positions. Then, we will stimulate the fascia (connective tissue) to facilitate healthy slide and glide between all tissues of the body. Finally, we will incorporate passive postures to train the nervous system to relax. Among the benefits of this practice are increased blood circulation, lymphatic flow, range of motion, and down-regulation of the nervous system.
What to expect:
- Laying on the floor for short periods of time
- Participants will get up and down from the floor
-
Restorative Yoga
The purpose of restorative yoga is to relax the nervous system and calm the mind. We will move through several heavily propped postures, staying in each pose for between 5-15 minutes. These postures are not intended for stretching, rather for peaceful, comfortable rest. Restorative yoga intentionally brings the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest) online, increasing well-being, naturally boosting immune and lymphatic health, and improving circulatory, pulmonary, and digestive functioning.
What to expect:
- Laying on the floor for long periods of time
- Participants will get up and down from the floor
-

Yoga Nidra
Yoga nidra is a longer, guided meditation. We will begin each class with some gentle movement to release tension and prepare the body to lie down. Then, students will rest comfortably on the floor, supported by props for the duration of the meditation. Participants are lulled into a state of alpha or theta brain waves, which are conducive to deep meditation and rest. This deep rest is said to be equivalent to three hours of REM sleep.
What to expect:
- Laying on the floor for the duration of class, we have chairs to accommodate those who would like to sit.
- Participants will get up and down from the floor

Nervous System Reset
Learn to relax your body and mind, and become able to identify when you move into a stressed state. Through grounding techniques, meditation, somatic movement, and breathwork, participants will practice shifting their own nervous system state based on a felt sense within the body. With practice, you will be able to take these tools off the mat and into your everyday life. Often we function on high alert or shut down settings in our nervous systems, and bringing awareness to the nervous system state we are in allows us to move back into a relaxed state, regardless of external stimuli throughout the day.
What to expect:
- Short periods of moderate- to high-intensity movement, sometimes involving folding forward and standing
- Participants will sometimes get up and down from the floor
- Participants may be asked to engage in exercises that intentionally and temporarily raise stress levels in order to widen the window of tolerance within their nervous system.
